An unusual octahedral coordination of Al in [AlN 6 ] (red in Picture) is discovered in a novel nitride with a Swedenborgite‐type structure. In their Communication on page 3886 ff., S. F. Huang, Z. H. Huang, T. Söhnel, and co‐workers solve the crystal structure by using synchrotron, X‐ray, and neutron diffraction, and present 27 Al NMR spectral confirmation for such a unique coordination. They also clarify that the extra atoms (green) are distributed around the [AlN 6 ] octahedra in a disordered manner.
