Enantiomerically pure chiral amines are ubiquitous chemical building blocks in bioactive pharmaceuticals. One of the most attractive strategies for their synthesis is the stereoselective installation of a chiral amine through formal C−H amination. In their Communication on page 1511 ff., S. Flitsch et al. report the construction and application of a multienzyme cascade in a single bacterial whole cell which is able to catalyze stereoselective benzylic aminations.
