Sequential reactions between a 2,6‐diisopropylphenyl‐substituted β‐diketiminato magnesium n ‐butyl derivative and P 4 allow the highly discriminating synthesis of unusual [ n Bu 2 P 4 ] 2− and [ n Bu 2 P 8 ] 2− cluster dianions.
