New carbones of the type Ph 2 E→C←SPh 2 (NMe) (E=S or Se) were synthesized and characterized. T. Fujii et al. show in their Communication on page 9569 ff. that the double protonation of Ph 2 Se→C←SPh 2 (NMe) gives a dication, whereas a C‐metalated trication is obtained with silver(I). These reactions constitute the first experimental evidence for a carbodichalcogenurane behaving as a four‐electron donor ligand.
