As the first main‐group metal η 8 complex barium dibenzopentalenide was realized by introducing BaC bonds into phenyl‐substituted 1,4‐dilithio‐1,3‐butadienyl skeletons. Synthesis, single‐crystal X‐ray structural characterization, and reaction chemistry of these complexes are presented by Z. Xi et al. in their Communication on page 10822 ff. Functionalized dibenzopentalenes could be obtained from barium dibenzopentalenides.
