IFAB‐ulous trifluoromethylation : (CX 3 COO) 2 I III Ph (X=F, H) and (CH 3 COO) 3 I V (C 6 H 4 COO) are introduced as CX 3 . /CX 3 I precursors for metal‐free, visible‐light, radical (trifluoro)(iodo)methylations of alkenes, illustrated by their use as photoinitiators for the controlled radical polymerization of vinylidene fluoride with external (I(CF 2 ) 6 I) and in situ generated (CF 3 I) iodine chain transfer agents, and for block copolymer synthesis.
