Compressed CO 2 triggers the formation of amphiphilic proline supramolecular assemblies in water, which catalyze the asymmetric aldol reaction without any additives. Compressed CO 2 can dynamically regulate the size of the assemblies and subsequently the catalyst activity and selectivity. Furthermore, CO 2 provides the merit of easy separation and purification, making the process sustainable and recyclable.
