Binary co‐catalysts of Pt and Cu 2 O with a core–shell structure significantly enhance the photocatalytic reduction of CO 2 with H 2 O to CH 4 and CO. The Cu 2 O shell provides sites for the preferential activation and conversion of CO 2 , whereas the Pt core extracts the photogenerated electrons from TiO 2 . The deposition of Cu 2 O shell on Pt nanoparticles markedly suppresses the reduction of H 2 O to H 2 (see picture).
