Square deal : Reactions of SbF 3 with Me 3 SiOSO 2 CF 3 produce Sb 3+ and [Sb‐F] 2+ cations, which form complexes with two or three Me 3 P ligands. Subsequent reductive elimination of diphosphonium or fluorophosphonium cations from the complexes give the folded square cyclo ‐[(Me 3 P) 4 Sb 4 ][OTf] 4 . Formation of the tetracation framework reveals new redox chemistry for Sb.
