CuTe bonds! A delicate balance between polyanionic TeTe bonds and multicenter CuCu and CuTe interactions is found in the modulated structure of CuTe. Modulated CuTe is thus an alliance of typical bonding properties of polyanionic and metal‐rich compounds.
