η 2 ‐coordination of a SnSn bond : An intramolecular distannene was synthesized in a straightforward fashion from 4,5‐dilithio‐9,9‐dimethylxanthene. This compound reacts with [Ni(cod) 2 ] to form a Ni 0 complex with an unprecedented Sn 2 Ni triangle (see scheme; cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene).
