Intermolecular CO instead of CC bond formation is achieved with [CpRu(CH 3 CN) 3 ][PF 6 ] and diimine ligands as catalysts of the decomposition of α‐diazo‐β‐ketoesters in THF leading to original products of 1,3 CH insertion (see scheme).
