Bio‐oil to hydrocarbon oil : An active, selective, and stable catalyst (Ni supported in zeolite HZSM‐5) allows the conversion of a wide variety of CO and CO bonds in n ‐hexane‐extracted pyrolysis oil into hydrocarbons through a cascade of hydrogenation, hydrolysis, dehydration, and dehydroaromatization reactions. Quantitative yields of C 5 –C 9 gasoline‐range hydrocarbons are obtained under mild conditions in water.
