Building with sugar : Glucose acts as a transforming template for the synthesis of the three‐dimensional macroporous oxide Sm 0.2 Ce 0.8 O 1.9 . The material has a two‐dimensional nanosheet microstructure and has a high surface area and great potential for the fabrication of gas‐tight membranes with high ionic conductivity.
