Shelling out : A core–shell nanocomposite comprising an Ag nanoparticle core and a CeO 2 nanoparticle shell catalyzes the chemoselective reduction of both nitrostyrenes and epoxides while retaining the CC bonds (see picture). Reactions with the core–shell structures show greater chemoselectivity than conventional oxide‐supported metal nanoparticles.
