Turn a light on : Enantiospecific hydroxylation of nonactivated CH bonds as well as epoxidations of CC bonds are reported using a novel peroxidase from Agrocybe aegerita ( Aae APO). Aae APO represents a more active and more versatile alternative to the current gold standard, chloroperoxidase. H 2 O 2 was produced in situ by photocatalytic reduction of O 2 using simple flavin adenine mononucleotide (FMN) catalysts.
