A molecular sieve : A metal–organic framework (MOF) MIL‐47 loaded with CuCl 2 shows the highest adsorption capacity for benzothiophene because of the presence of Cu I ions derived from Cu II ions and porous MIL‐47. The Cu I ions were obtained by reduction of Cu II with V III ions in MIL‐47. The modified MOF could be successfully used for the desulfurization of a liquid fuel (see picture).
