Activation of CH bonds in saturated hydrocarbons under mild conditions is a great challenge. In their Communication on page 8299 ff. J.‐S. Chen and co‐workers report a Zn + ‐modified ZSM‐5 material that shows photocatalytic activity for the dehydrogenative coupling of methane to ethane and hydrogen under UV and sunlight irradiation at room temperature. The energy needed to power the photocatalytic system is much lower than that required by previously reported systems.
