Bridging the gap : The electrical conductance of individual metallo‐DNA duplexes that bridge a carbon nanotube gap can be measured and switched by use of Cu 2+ ions (see picture, yellow sphere: Cu 2+ ). These studies form the basis for new exciting research that interfaces molecular nanodevices with biological systems.
