Fluorination operates for good : A trifluoromethyl group is able to stabilize the title compound (see picture; Au yellow, C gray, F green, O red), which formed by low‐temperature treatment of [PPh 4 ][Au(CF 3 ) 2 ] with BF 3 ⋅OEt 2 . A trigonal environment is adopted by each molecule with aurophilic interactions with three near‐neighbors in a global triskelion arrangement.
