Rising to the challenge : A reliable, stable, safe, and low‐cost method of producing H 2 from H 2 O is needed so that this high‐energy‐density gas can serve as a cleaner source of energy, particularly for low‐temperature fuel‐cell‐powered devices. An atomically dispersed Pt catalyst (see picture) recently developed on an inexpensive and inert support could well hold the key.
