Two P or not two P? This bastardization of a well‐known Shakespearean phrase is used to highlight recent work that shows that irradiation of white phosphorus produces diphosphorus, P 2 (see scheme), which may be reacted in situ in a double Diels–Alder reaction to give cage diphosphines.
