Agostic silanimine complexes : Reaction of [Yb{N(SiMe 3 ) 2 } 2 (thf) 2 ] with ArNHSiH 3 resulted in the formation of the first lanthanide silanimine complex [{ArNSiH[N(SiMe 3 ) 2 ]} 2 Yb 2 ] (see picture), having a planar Yb 2 Si 2 core with significant α‐(SiH) ⋅⋅⋅ Yb interactions, as well as the monomeric homoleptic lanthanide(II) amide [{ArNSiH 2 [N(SiMe 3 ) 2 ]} 2 Yb], showing β‐agostic (SiH) ⋅⋅⋅ Yb interactions.
