Effective, if dotty : Quantum‐dot (QD) emission was modulated through the reversible covalent bonding of glucose to boronic acids on the surface of the QDs (see picture). The highly selective ratiometric probe was sensitive to glucose in the physiologically important concentration range of 0.4–20.0 m M and was used to determine the amount of glucose within living cells.
