Zinc in : Polyoxometalate 1 reacts with Zn 2+ ions in acetone to form a novel sandwich‐type POM 2 in almost quantitative yield. The H 2 O 2 ‐based oxidation of secondary alcohols with 2 efficiently proceeds, with an activity and chemoselectivity that is very different from those of tungsten‐based catalysts including 1 (see scheme; green Zn).
