Go with the flow : The transport of salt ions and single‐stranded DNA through individual single‐walled carbon nanotubes marks the advent of a new type of solid‐state nanopore. Surprisingly, the transport process shows a marked dependence on the electronic properties of the nanotubes: two nanotube “pipes” with the same diameter but different chiralities could exhibit orders of magnitude differences in ionic conductivity.
