Who eight all the πs? Hexaphyrin(1.1.1.1.1.1) rearranges into figure‐of‐eight hexaphyrin(2.1.1.0.1.1) upon B III complexation (see scheme). Redox reactions convert between 30π and 28π electron systems requiring the B III coordination to change between trigonal and tetrahedral. Removal of the B III centers allows hexaphyrin(2.1.1.0.1.1) to complex two Pd II centers.
