Calix[4]pyrrole is a beautiful, easy‐to‐synthesize macrocycle that completely changes its properties upon reduction and has been known for more than 120 years thanks to the work of Adolf von Baeyer. Its reduced form is described for the first time by H. Stoeckli‐Evans, R. Neier and co‐workers in their Communication on page 1688 ff. Metal complexes can be formed with great ease, thus creating an array of four directed hydrogen bonds.
