Thoroughly absorbing : The simple combination of lithium ions and isonicotinate anions ( 1 ) leads to the formation of a lightweight salt (see picture; C black, O red, N blue, Li purple) that is able to reversibly sorb H 2  , N 2  , CO 2  , and CH 4  . The salt exists as a 3D network of microchannels that are occupied by solvent molecules.
