Silver service : Two simple compounds, H 2 O⋅⋅⋅AgCl and H 2 S⋅⋅⋅AgCl (see picture), formed by interaction of either H 2 O or H 2 S with AgCl, are detected by rotational spectroscopy. AgCl is produced by laser ablation of silver in the presence of CCl 4 and then picks up H 2 O or H 2 S. H 2 O⋅⋅⋅AgCl is isomorphic with its hydrogen‐ and halogen‐bonded analogues H 2 O⋅⋅⋅HCl and H 2 O⋅⋅⋅ClF, while H 2 S⋅⋅⋅AgCl is similarly related to H 2 S⋅⋅⋅HCl and H 2 S⋅⋅⋅ClF.
