Encapsulated or Not Encapsulated? Mapping Alcohol Sites in Hexameric Capsules of Resorcin[4]arenes in Solution by Diffusion NMR Spectroscopy

Knock, knock! Despite the similar high‐field 1 H NMR spectra of different alcohols in the presence of hexameric capsules of resorcin[4]arenes, diffusion NMR spectroscopy showed that only some of these alcohols are truly encapsulated in the hexameric capsules, whereas other alcohols are part of the hexameric structure of the capsules (see schematic representation; R=C 11 H 23 ).
