Silylene with a carbene carabiner : The synthesis, structure, and some reactions of a stable carbene adduct of dibromosilylene, SiBr 2 (Idipp) (see picture; Idipp=1,3‐bis(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)‐ imidazol‐2‐ylidene), are described. SiBr 2 (Idipp) was characterized by X‐ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and theoretical methods.
