Pt@CoAl2O4 inorganic nanopeapods consisting of well‐defined platinum nanoparticle chains embedded in CoAl 2 O 4 nanoshells are synthesized “à la carte” by an approach combining template‐based electrodeposition with a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction route, as described by L. Liu et al. in their Communication on page  7004  ff. The size, separation, and arrangement of platinum nanoparticles can be tuned easily. The nanopeapods are promising building blocks for nanoscale photonic devices.
