Palladium‐catalyzed CH activation is employed in a novel, efficient synthesis of carbazoles and their derivatives using cross dehydrogenative arylation and Buchwald's CN formation. As described by Z.‐J. Shi and co‐workers in the Communication on page 1115 ff., this methodology requires no prefunctionalization of arene starting materials and proceeds without halide or organometallic reagents.
