The Trofimenko–Tebbe alliance : The sterically crowded, monoanionic scorpionate ligand Tp t Bu,Me provides a unique environment for the isolation of discrete rare‐earth metal complexes with Y(CH 3 ){Al(CH 3 ) 4 } and La(CH 2 ) moieties (see structure; C gray, H white, Al orange, B red, La pink, N blue); the latter shows promising reactivity as a Tebbe reagent analogue.
