An unusual mix : The first mixed‐valence uranium(V,VI) germanates are synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The structure of A 3 (U 2 O 4 )(Ge 2 O 7 ) (A=Rb, Cs) contains chains of corner‐sharing U 5+ O 6 octahedra (purple) and U 6+ O 6 tetragonal bipyramids (yellow), which are interconnected by GeO 4 tetrahedra (green) to form a 3D framework (see picture; A blue).
