Iron/oxidant can do : Heteroatom‐containing molecules are abundant in natural products, pharmaceuticals, and materials. It is highly desirable to synthesize these molecules and their derivatives by direct CH functionalization. The novel title reaction provides a simple and efficient method to construct such molecules by using 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds (see scheme).
