Strong acceptor, weak coordination : The heterodinuclear complex ion [LCu(dppf)] + (see formula) contains the as yet unrecognized strong π‐acceptor system NNCO, which is involved in a charge‐transfer interaction with the copper center but is not reduced through full electron transfer. This situation is likely caused by steric hindrance and the donor function of the dialkylamino substituents on the CO carbon atom.
