Nanosized long‐periodic stacking sequences are formed by polytypic transformations that are initiated by partially substituting Bi for Sn in the close‐packed structure of BaSn 3 . Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and TEM investigations show that temperature‐dependent interlayer‐ordering processes lead to repeat units beyond 10 nm (see TEM image).
