Zeolite coatings present a safe and viable alternative to the commonly used but toxic chromate conversion coating for aluminum alloys and other metals, but they normally require high‐pressure synthesis. In the Communication on page 525 ff., Y. S. Yan and co‐workers present the first ionothermal method by which an oriented zeolite coating can be synthesized on Al alloy at ambient pressure by using microwave radiation. This coating, when sealed with silane, shows exceptional corrosion resistance.
