Controlled confinement : A supramolecular approach for the design of multicomponent self‐assembled monolayers on Au(111) is employed to obtain subnanometer‐resolved patterns on the solid substrate (see picture). The formation of crystalline bicomponent domains is discussed in view of their potential applications in the development of new electronic devices.
