Rising to the challenge : Neutral phosphinosulfonate Pd II complexes were recently demonstrated to be versatile catalysts even for the challenging insertion copolymerization of polar functionalized vinyl comonomers H 2 CCHX, such as acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, and alkyl vinyl ethers (see scheme, MA=methyl acrylate).
