Star treatment : Host molecule tris(isonicotinoyl)cyclotriguaiacylene self‐assembles with Pd(NO 3 ) 2 to form a [Pd 6 L 8 ] 12+ metallo‐supramolecular cage of over 3 nm in diameter that resembles a stella octangular structure (see picture). ESMS and DOSY NMR studies show the assembly also exists in solution with a hydrodynamic radius of approximately 19 Å.
