The homoleptic aqua complex of thorium(IV) is the first aqua complex of a tetravalent cation to be isolated in the solid state. High‐energy X‐ray scattering experiments demonstrate the same tenfold aqua coordination in solution. Green polyhedra [Th(H 2 O) 10 ] 4+ , brown spheres Br − .
