Zinc joins the magic circle : Use of the acids Ph 2 C(X)CO 2 H (X=OH, NH 2 ) allows access to novel organozinc ring systems. Intriguing solid‐state structures (see picture; O red, Zn green, N blue, Li pink), elucidated by X‐ray crystallography using synchrotron radiation, form depending on the nature of X. These complexes serve as an entry point into new organozinc ring chemistry.
