A multitasking template : [2]Rotaxanes have been synthesized with the help of a palladium active‐metal template, which acts as both a template for threading and a catalyst for covalent‐bond formation (see scheme). The synthesis is high yielding, operates under mild conditions, and is catalytic in palladium.
