Marking mutations : Complete discrimination of 8‐oxoguanosine (8‐oxoG) from other nucleosides has been achieved with a new fluorescent probe, named “8‐oxoG‐clamp” (see picture). The complex structure between 8‐oxoG‐clamp and 8‐oxoG was confirmed by 1 H NMR titration and 2D NMR measurements. A preliminary investigation with use of a detergent for solubilization indicates that 8‐oxoG‐clamp may be applicable in aqueous media.
