PEGged as soluble : Potassium graphite (C 8 K) is functionalized to yield derivatives that are soluble in either water or organic solvents. For example, treatment of C 8 K with 5‐bromovaleric acid followed by amine‐terminated poly(ethylene glycol) leads to water‐soluble nanoplatelets (see AFM image).
