A breath of fresh air : Mesoporous manganese oxide (γ‐MnO 2 ) was deposited with gold nanoparticles by vacuum‐UV‐assisted laser ablation, resulting in very strong metal–support interactions. The composite was found to remove a wide range of volatile organic compounds (and NO x and SO 2 ) from air as well as catalyze their decomposition.
