Hallo − hallo − ! A ruthenium(II) complex ( 1 ) with the flavin analogue alloxazine (H 2 allo) has revealed that the ligand anion (Hallo − ) forms a four‐membered chelate ring. This unprecedented coordination mode of Hallo allows it to form hydrogen bonds with a complementary receptor (e.g. 2 ), allowing the effects of hydrogen bonding on the redox behavior and electronic structure of a ruthenium‐bound Hallo radical to be studied.
